            No more bushy, wagging tail, to greet me at the door

            No more strands of doggie hairs, strewn across the floor

            No more great big doggie tongue, licking at my face

            Without my friend, my house, is such an empty place!

            No more walking, across the fields, with him by my side

            No more asking for some treats, with both eyes open wide

            No more big wet nose, nuzzling for a fuss

            You were so much more than just a friend, you were like a son to us
